Currently Noel is the Digital Programme Manger for Merseyside Dance Initiative leading the Digital ToolBox project working with emerging dance artist to develop digital performance skills . 

Previously a full time member of staff for the past twelve years, at Liverpool John Moores University Dance department. Noel is the lead new media practitioner for the dance department's creative technology, photography, sound , video and theatrical production provision. He delivers workshops for audio production, sound composition, dance for camera , performance & technology, web development, theatrical stage lighting and immersive theatre.

He has designed the installation of the Sudley Theatre’s immersive digital performance space, comprising of a 270 degree video projection system with state of the art video projection mapping, LED theatre lighting and an industry standard editing suite.

Noel originally studied Fine Art focussing on painting and sculpture, which later led him into video and installation.

He then went on to be awarded the The Stuart Suttcliffe fellowship at LJMU, combining visual arts

and sound . During this period Noel exhibited and published works alongside artists such as Brian Eno, Thurston Moore and Yoko Ono. Whilst studying for his Masters in "multimedia design and production" he created , programmed and exhibited an interactive generative animation and sound score work as part of the International Symposium of Electronic Arts.

Noel went on to lecture in Electronic Arts and TV Studio Production, whilst continuing to exhibit and work as a multimedia designer and artist.

His practice led him into community multimedia arts, working with many arts and community based projects across the northwest of England.

He managed and delivered training programmes in filmmaking, theatre practice and the visual arts within his role as artist and filmmaker in residence at the Valley Community Theatre.

Funded by the UK film council and the European SocialFund, for ten years he ran multiple programmes for vulnerable and disadvantaged youths, improving students’ academic, technical, social development and reintegration into the school system.

His past film work has been screened at the Raindance Film Festival, received multiple local social charities’ awards and a national film award.

Noel continues his artistic practice working predominately with immersive technologies within multi disciplinary collaborative projects.
